Portable ultrasound scanner detects the reflected sound waves from objects and turns them into real time images. It normally uses two memories : configuration memory and image/report memory.
Configuration memory is for storing identification and configuration information of outer hardware. And image/report memory is for storing images and corresponding report data. These data in both memories should be kept even at power failure.
MRAM is an ideal memory which can serve as both configuration memory and image/report memory as it prevent data loss at power failure.
MRAM delivers main benefits as the following
Eliminate voltage controller, battery and battery socket required for SRAM
No capacitor for nvSRAM needed
Safe from sudden power failure, Short recovering time
Long retention time (10years)
Virtually no limit on endurance (100 trillion write cycle)
